On 15 April 1912 the Titanic sank in the North Atlantic Ocean and over 1,500 people died. 100 years later, in commemoration of disastrous Voyage and tragic loss of life, Bee Gees’ Robin Gibb and his son RJ released a debut album with this brand new symphonic concept, The Titanic Requiem.
Recorded over a half-dozen sessions during this past year at Air studios in London, Robin and RJ collaborated on a classical composition with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra featuring also the RSVP Voices choir. Produced by Cliff Masterson and Savvas Iosifidis, this modern classic includes three vocal pieces: Daybreak (tenor Mario Frangoulis), Christmas Day (British 14yr old prodigy choirgirl Isabel Suckling), and Don’t Cry Alone in which Robin Gibb sings the evocative lead vocal, the welcome return of one of music’s truly unforgettable and distinctive voices.
