On November 22nd , 1981, the Rolling Stones were crossing the US tour when they had a night off in Chicago prior to playing 3 nights at the Rosemont Horizon. Muddy Waters was in town, performing at his own club, The Checkerboard Lounge. Long influenced by the Chicago blues, the band paid a visit to Muddy Waters club to see the legendary bluesman perform. Muddy soon called Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Ian Stewart (the band’s touring piano player and one of its earliest semi-members) onto the stage. It was all caught on camera and recorded. Ths 90-minute performance also features Buddy Guy and Lefty Dizz. Now, restored from the original footage and with sound mixed and mastered by Bob Clearmountain, this amazing blues night is being made available in an official release for the first time.
