The American Masters tells the tight bond between Anne and the composers of her music, the American Masters. In the heart of the album is the Violin Concerto by Mason Bates written exclusively for Anne and the exquisite Lullaby for Natalie by John Corigliano, composed for the birth of Anne’s first child, Natalie.
Anne engaged this three-generation American Masters in composition – Samuel Barber, John Corigliano and Mason Bates – in this album project to capture the dear friendship and shared ideas in one recording. Other tracks include Samuel Barber’s seminal Violin Concerto, the first songs Anne recorded by the age of 18, Bates’ Violin Concerto was also co-commissioned by Pittsburgh Symphony to perform with the Pittsburgh, Nashville, Detroit, Richmond and Chicago Symphony Orchestras in the past 2 seasons.
Anne was supported by the London Symphony Orchestra in this recording, with the help of world famous conductor Leonard Slatkin. The American Masters trails the success of Anne’s past album, The Four Seasons: The Vivaldi Album which holds a strong presence on the Billboard Classical chart to date.
